Omnipresence
God is omnipresent! This is already taught to children in schools! People who still believe in God are so familiar with it, and take it so much for granted that they do not think it necessary to consider whether they really know what they are saying.
But if one asks for an explanation as to how they think of it, then knowledge ceases immediately and they themselves realize that in the word “omnipresent” there is not yet the knowledge of the meaning.
Humans have the word, but not the understanding. And that, after all, is the main thing in all things. And even knowledge is of no use where comprehension is lacking! Man knows the meaning of the term “omnipresent”. But to know the meaning is not yet to comprehend, not to grasp the sense.
So I point to my lecture: “Life”. God is the life! He alone! Everything else is only a sequence of movements, which only comes into being through the pressure of the radiation of life.
The one who seeks to ask for something in the most heartfelt prayer receives, through his attitude, contact with the place where help can come to him. I have already said this once in my explanations of the effect of prayer. By prayer, however, one should not think of supplication, but of adoration, worship and adoration! But every deepening of this kind of the human spirit is nothing else than a seeking of connection! Seeking connection with the Light, the Purity and the Life! The human spirit’s desires and yearnings expand. He gropes spiritually in search of the heights of light. And if he searches earnestly, he finds what Christ promised. He finds the connection with life! But only connection, not life itself!
This is now also the process when men will call for the Son of Man. In strong, pure longing they find the way to Him spiritually. But as they stand on the right path, then they also feel Him, who are allowed to look spiritually, they even see Him before them, alive, yes, often speaking and responding to what distresses them very much.
In their pure longing, the supplicants find the way of connection to Him. Remember this well! He does not go to them! And so it happens that thousands of people in the universe speak to Him at the same time, they also see Him before them, acting according to the kind and law of light, punishing or helping, and He Himself.... feels nothing of it, nevertheless it actually happens what these people see or hear spiritually! He is not burdened by it.
If all creatures in all Creation would simultaneously seek connection with Him in the right way, they will all feel him, will also receive what they strive to ask, according to the kind of earnestness and purity of their requests, will behold him in part, not only in all the earth places, but in the world parts, simultaneously, and yet he cannot tire of it, is never weakened by it... because in him is life which does not pass away, but remains eternally renewing itself, in a word: because “He is!”
Around Him revolve the spirits of men in their becoming, their maturing, or in their decay. Each and every one of them can find the connection with Him, at any time, if one only honestly wants to seek.
But, in the Judgment, this connection is forced upon everyone by his being an earthman! By becoming an earthman he entered into and stands in all the creations themselves. And through this all things of this Creation come directly into closer relationship with him. There could remain no gap, no hindrance to the penetration of his radiations. He has carried them into the ethereal and the gross material planes. That all may be directed to it!
So you find in prayer or earnest seeking only one way of connecting with God, and this makes Him seem to you as omnipresent as you have hitherto thought Him to be. Even a wicked man quickly finds the means of communication, for his feelings are attuned to God, even if in an evil sense. This is why there are many examples of such a man being very often crushed at the very moment of the transgression, or soon after. He found a way to connect with God, and the living power quickly took effect on him. It is natural to every man that it should destroy him. It is for this reason that such miracles occur, in which ignorant fanatics may see arbitrary acts of God as punishment, whereas in reality they are and remain the effects of fixed laws.
In this way, omnipresence has only been misunderstood. Omnipresence is perhaps better described by the word: always present! That is to say, always to be found at all times, if one searches.
The outward appearance of the event only deceived people. They started from the false principle of their thinking that God cares for them personally, that He cares for them and surrounds them with protection, and did not think of the fact that they themselves must do everything in their power to strive for the necessary union, which they have always unconsciously done in true prayer. They did not like to believe that they were surrounded only by the Laws of God, which were at rest in Creation, and which, acting by themselves, brought about every reward and punishment.
Being omnipresent actually means nothing other than being able to be reached from any place in Creation.
But this, too, can only be accepted with reservation; for it is literally true when it says: “Before God all things fall to pieces!” There is a vast gulf! Not a single being is able to come directly before God, that is, to reach Him, unless he himself comes directly from God! This is possible only for two, the Son of God and the Son of Man. Everything else would and must pass away immediately before Him. He could therefore never stand before Him with consciousness.
The human spirit can only find the way to God. And this path of communication is, according to the fulfilment and proclamation for all eternity, the Son of Man, as He is promised as the eternal Mediator. For this reason the spirit of man always meets Him in every case of earnest seeking. And through Him he will receive the help in return to which the seeker has truly attuned himself!
Thus the Son of Man also appears to man omnipresent, that is to say, he, the man, meets Him when he asks rightly, he finds Him! The effect of this is exactly as if the Son of Man were with him, for at such moments he is connected with Him by a path of radiation which also shows the image of the Son of Man.
To your work, therefore, now trace back all that happens to you; for in you alone is firmly anchored the mysterious lever which brings your destiny, every single experience. How you set the course, that is where the chariot of life will lead you! Never forget this; for the experience of every moment is very closely connected with it!
But The Son of Man is! He was placed into The Creation by God as power from His power! You revolve around Him, and all that meets you from Him, whether love or rejection, you create for yourselves by your attitude! He stands before you at all times when you earnestly seek Him, calling in pure supplication; for in so doing you step with your spirit on the connecting path to Him, and see Him, or feel Him. In this living law lies the meaning of omnipresence!
